Story 4 - Self-Love.

When the end came as it always does, of our meeting over a coffee-- long after the coffee was gone and we were leaving the coffee shop--I asked her in my exuberance if we could possibly meet again.
"What for?" she asked and embraced me. "What good would that do? Anything more won't be needed. If you love yourself fully, as I know you will in time, what more could I possibly add to that fulfillment? If anything, I would be a hindrance. The world is full of beautiful people with interesting faces and loving hearts that you might want to treat yourself to meet. We are all a part of the same humanity, and it is the greatest treat in the world to give ourselves the chance to find this out."
We shook hands after those last few words were spoken and went our separate ways. Nor did I ever see her again. Maybe she wasn't a part of the regular conference crowd, or maybe it was that I soon stopped looking for her, though I felt quite certain that I would never forget her, nor our experiences together.
